How to slim your waist in a photo without it showing

Slimming a waist is easy; knowing where to stop is the hard part. In practice, values between 10 and 25 go unnoticed, while above 40 clothing and the gap under the arm start to look inconsistent.

The short answer

In Glooowe, slimming is not a separate effect — it is the negative side of the body axes. Open the Body tab and pull the Waist axis into negative values. The range is ±70 with the original photo in the middle. Around 15 works unnoticed on most photos; increase from there while watching the preview.

Clothing sets the limit

The same value can look natural on one photo and fake on another. The difference is the clothing: a fitted top is unforgiving because you compress its pattern and seams too, while a loose top absorbs more. Be especially careful with stripes and prints — once the pattern bends, the edit shows.

Watch the gap under the arm

In a pose where the arm does not touch the body, the gap between arm and waist is the most sensitive area. Slimming widens that gap; once it becomes anatomically impossible, the eye catches it instantly. Check that area separately before you finish.

Background lock

What usually gives slimming away is not the body but the straight lines behind it: door frames, tile grout, railings. Background lock pins those areas and keeps the stretch around the person. It is not perfect; at very large values some warping can still show, so move in small steps.

Waist and torso are separate

Waist and torso are independent axes. Slimming only the waist and leaving the torso alone looks more natural than narrowing everything; hips can be handled separately in the same way.
